Apple's Planet

Incidentally, Apple is my sobriquet. It bears no relevance to any Brand or Product.

This is my personal site that I use to display my Art, Photos and thoughts. I will be updating this site on a regular basis when time permits. Currently, I have launched the Gallery, which contains a few of my Photographs. In the days and months to come, I will be adding more photographs and some of my paintings.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.  I have made a fervent attempt to capture this beauty surrounding us, through the lens of my cameras and in my paintings. Over the years, my friends and my family have been encouraging and urging me to pursue my talents. I have finally managed to find the time to display my creations online. This is my dedication to all those who saw me through my journey.

My sojourn with photography started when I received a Kodak Pocket Camera.  I knew nothing about Photography or of Composition then. However, as I started using it, my interest in Photography grew. A year later, I bought myself a Minolta with the pocket money that I had saved. The camera was nothing great to write home about but, it served my purpose at that time. Seeing my interest in Photography, I received Nikon FM SLR as a gift for my Birthday.  That was my first stint with a 'Real' camera and ‘true' photography.  My first lessons in Photography have been through trial and error. Digital cameras were unheard of in those days.  The lessons I learned were costly and time consuming.  I had to wait for the film to be developed to see the results.  But, I have no regrets. The lessons I learned were valuable and gave me an insight to photography. The advent of Digital cameras has made photography easier for all.  If I don't like what I have captured, I am in a position to delete it right away and have the opportunity to photograph the object again. No time or opportunity is lost (this is not true if you are photographing wildlife).  Currently, I own a Pentax and a Nikon D70s along with a couple of Nikon, Sigma and Tamron Lenses.

I was among the fortunate few, who was able to travel the world early in life. If Jules Verne traveled ‘Around the World In 80 Days',  I have achieved the same feat seven times and in a shorter span of time.  Of course, each time I went around the world, I made my stop over in different countries or cities.

My travels have taken me to various Continents, Countries and Cities, whose beauty and culture fascinated and inspired me.  I fervently hope that I have done justice to their beauty. This then, is the outcome of my many travels. I hope you too will enjoy it as much as I do.
