I took the train from Oslo to Bergen in the summer of 2006. The journey is known as the Roof of Norway and is rated as one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world. It is the highest line in Europe and the train climbs up to 4000 feet across the barren, snow flecked Hardangervidda mountain plateau before descending through lush valleys to the coast.´

The journey to Bergen from Oslo takes approximately 6 hours. 2 hours into the journey from Oslo, one gets to see the most amazing scenery one could ever set their eyes on.
