Sunset On a Winter's Day in Helsinki 2007
I have heard that passing seasons change the habits and moods of people. This is more visible in Finland. During the winter months in the northern hemisphere, a gloominess nicknamed "winter blues", "February blahs", "Holiday depression", or doldrums, is informally noted amongst the people.
On the contrary, of all the seasons, I love the Spring, Autumn and Winter. When its too cold to venture out, I curl up to read a book or opt to paint indoors.
In winter, when the weather is bearable, I like to venture out. It is the best time in the Northern Hemisphere to capture the sunset. In winter, the Moon appears larger than usual and there is an eerie calm all around.
